Wall Cancel & Wall Climbing in GunZ: The Duel
Verticality Is Half of GunZ
Any wall is a movement tool: you can run along it, run up it, and — with sword cancels — rebound off it repeatedly to climb far higher than a jump allows. Classic maps (Town, Mansion, Dungeon) were community-canonized around these routes: rooftop angles in Town duels exist because of wall tech.
The Basics, In Order
- Wall run — dash toward a wall at an angle and hold movement along it
- Wall climb — run straight up a surface; height is limited without cancels
- Wall cancel — cancel the climb with a slash and re-engage: the rebound resets your climb, chaining vertical gains (the StrategyWiki Korean-Style documentation describes this as flipping off the wall to regain momentum)
Where It Wins Fights
- Escapes — breaking line of sight upward is the fastest disengage in the game
- Angles — dropping onto a duel from a rooftop with a slash shot is a classic opener
- Quest mode — some PvE waves are trivialized by holding high ground mobs path around
Drills
Town is the traditional classroom: pick one building face, climb it clean five times, then race yourself around the map touching every roof. When wall movement stops needing conscious thought, your duels change permanently.
